England’s Chris Kirkland and Temptr CEO Jack Knowles Launch ‘YAPA’
Temptr Founder and CEO Jack Knowles is set to launch a new mental health app this winter.
YAPA stands for You Are Perfect Always and will be a social networking app for people with mental health issues to get help. It will give them a space to connect and talk with other users who are in a similar situation.
It’s estimated that over 615 million people are suffering with depression and anxiety worldwide, a figure that is increasing all the time.
Knowles said: “The support has been amazing, from musicians to sportspeople to reality stars, YAPA really is going to be special. There will be verified bluetick profiles for well-known personalities too and we know of a lot that are joining. The app will be cool and very social, everyone will want to be a part of it.”
Former England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is joining the YAPA team to help promote the launch. In 2017, he opened up about his battle with mental illness, which ultimately led to him retiring from professional football.
Speaking about the app, Kirkland explained: “YAPA is a special app, I’m so glad to be a part of it and backing it. YAPA will be a great success not just in the UK, but globally”.
Although YAPA’s release date is yet to be officially confirmed, launch parties have been organised in London, Dubai, Sydney and several other UK locations.
Knowles has previously worked with Danniella Westbrook to help create Serious Dating.
