Chris Fralic, a tech industry veteran and First Round partner, is joining the MeetMe board.

As its board expands from five to six, MeetMe welcomes Fralic, who has over 30 years of technology industry experience.

Fralic was an early employee at Half.com, serving as VP of Business Development from 1999, before spending six years with eBay after it acquired Half.com.

He was also part of the team that launched TEDTalks and was VP of Business Development at del.icio.us.

For the past 11 years, Fralic has been a partner at First Round Capital, a San Francisco-based VC firm that specialises in seed-stage funding for tech companies.

At First Round, he has worked with companies like Adaptly, Refinery29, HotelTonight and Warby Parker.

MeetMe CEO Geoff Cook said: “Chris is a well known technology veteran who brings substantial experience to MeetMe, including a strong network and deep industry expertise.

“He was also an investor in our predecessor company myYearbook and served as a board observer until the merger with Quepasa in 2011. We are very excited to have him join our board and look forward to his contribution.”

MeetMe recently started its integration with Skout, combining the user bases of the mobile platforms, enabling both sets of users to connect and chat with each other.

Last month, Cook was also named in the GDI Power Book, our list of the most influential people in the dating industry.
