Grindr Set to Launch New Stand-Up Comedy Special ‘Gag Reflex’

Grindr is set to release its own online comedy special, which will air on the dating app and its YouTube channel on 1st April.

Titled ‘Gag Reflex’ the show is going to host the next generation of LGBTQ+ comedians. This includes Joel Kim Booster, Sydnee Washington, Jay Jurden, as well as appearances from established stars like Jaye McBride and Zach Zimmerman.

Each stand-up set will feature insights and anecdotes about modern dating and their individual experiences as a queer dater.

Executive Producer Patrick Rodgers told Yahoo News: “Comedy is such an integral part of the queer experience and we couldn’t think of a better time to show off our brightest queer comedic talents.

“After getting through a particularly difficult year for the community we’re so excited to share in some much needed laughter.”

This news follows an announcement at the beginning of March that Grindr is in the process of creating its first original series called ‘Bridesmen’. The series will consist of short 10-minute episodes which follow a gay man who attempts to undermine his best friend’s wedding.

It recently began production after initially being halted last year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
