Hinge Partners with Chipotle to Offer Singles Free Burritos

Hinge, the anti-Tinder dating app recently acquired by Match Group, has teamed up with Chipotle to offer singles buy-one-get-one-free burritos.

The collaboration comes after Hinge data revealed that mentioning Chipotle in conversation makes users 2.4 times more likely to end up on a date. Similarly, mentioning “queso” in a profile increases the chances of a match by 70%.

Between 13-24 December, Hinge users will get one deal on a burrito, bowl, salad, or order of tacos.

Jean-Marie McGrath, director of communications at Hinge, told Bustle: “We think part of the reason our data shows that mentioning ‘Chipotle’ impacts Hinge conversations is because people love to chat about, and bond over, the foods that they love.”

“Food is a social experience that people are passionate about and can have fun with, making it one of the best ways to connect with your matches, both on and off the app.”

A number of dating apps use food-based promotions in their marketing.

Last year, Bumble served catfish dishes from a truck to raise awareness of their photo verification feature. More recently, the app held a Taco Tuesday fundraising event in Florida.

In July, EliteSingles ran a World Chocolate Day promotion which included statistics about the connection between love and chocolate.
