Instagram has started to roll out its new tools for businesses.
The photo-sharing app created the new business profiles to try and improve customer reach for brands on the app.
With small businesses making up the majority of Instagram’s business advertisers, the app wanted to help them optimise their content to improve reach amongst potential customers.
So, Instagram has introduced three main new features – the first new business profiles that help consumers get in touch with businesses using a “connect” button, which encourages conversation by phone, text or email rather than public comments.
Another feature is an “insights” tool, which helps businesses see how well their content is working and who it is reaching.
Finally, Instagram for business also enables professional accounts to promote their best posts by turning them into adverts.
As the company said: “By learning more about the behaviour and demographics of your audience, you can create more relevant and timely content.”
And Instagram has started to roll these profiles out in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, before they become available globally by the end of the year.
