MeetMe and Holler Release New Range of Vaccination GIFs

Conversational media company Holler has extended its partnership with MeetMe to create a new range of stickers and GIFs, which ease some of the pressure around vaccination conversations.

The colourful animations are a fun way for daters to show their matches that they’re vaccinated and ready to meet in person.

MeetMe users are able to send them in both English and Spanish. Holler’s contextual artificial intelligence technology will automatically suggest the GIFs when users are having conversations related to the vaccinations or the pandemic.

Non-profit organisation the Ad Council helped to create stickers and GIFs as part of its ongoing series of campaigns around the pandemic. It specialises in public service announcements and has worked with Holler in the past to encourage mental health conversations throughout the times of social distancing.

An internal survey found that over 80% of MeetMe singles are planning to go on a date in the next 30 days and 77% feel more comfortable going on dates now that they’re vaccinated.

COVID safety is unsurprisingly a hot topic on dating platforms at the moment, with the majority of users discussing it with their potential partners. A quarter also use it as one of their go-to conversation openers.

Dr. Anirrudha Hazra, a member of The Meet Group’s ‘Safer Dating Advisory Board’, explained in a recent webinar about the vaccine and dating: “I hope folks feel empowered to ask their dates about their vaccine status, or feel empowered to say ‘I feel comfortable only beng outdoors right now, even though we’re both vaccinated’.

“I think those types of conversations are really important to have and can definitely translate to more intimate conversations about what they’re comfortable with, with either sex or other forms of intimacy.”

The Meet Group started its partnership with Holler in March, releasing a range of unique animations to help users express their emotions and keep conversations flowing.
