US-based market data and insights company App Annie has discovered that Mexico iOS and Android users have downloaded a large amount of trending entertainment apps over the past year.
It discovered that Netflix, Clash Royale, Tinder and YouTube were downloaded the most by Mexicans.
The most downloaded apps on iOS were Netflix, Clash Royale, YouTube, Tinder, Candy Crush, Clash of Clans, HBO Go, Spotify Music, Pokemon Go and Slotomania: Vegas Slot.
Oliver Aguilar, analyst at the IDC consultancy said: “The maximum objective of an application is to provide an experience, but also receive a monetary income that allows them to generate development and work on better experiences for the client.”
He added that the successfully cultivated demand is linked to the apps’ developers desire to generate a bigger profit from the experiences they provide.
At the end of 2017, the market value of downloadable applications in Mexico reached a total of $40 million USD and a 30% increase is already expected in 2018 – estimated to reach $52 million USD.
Also during 2017, there were an estimated 5.7 million app users in Mexico. In 2018, it is estimated to reach 7.2 million.
App Annie has also predicted that the market value of application downloads could grow by 160% between 2017 and 2022.
The most popular dating apps used in Mexico include Tinder (59.6%), followed by Badoo, Happn and Grindr.
