Patrik Frisk, CEO and AI specialist at Besedo, and Andrew McClellan, CEO of the Online Dating Association (ODA), are set to host a webinar exploring how online harassment affects the online dating industry.
The talk will cover the size of the problem on a global scale, the number of users that are affected, and what this means in terms of their online behaviour.
It will also discuss how harassment affects the dating industry from a business perspective, how the industry is reacting, and how the latest AI technology might be implemented in the field.
The webinar will also make note of how online harassment impacts both sexes – nearly the same amount of women and men are sent unwanted images and abusive messages.
It will be hosted at 3:00pm Central European Time on the 21st of March, and will last for 30 minutes.
The webinar is part of data-driven content moderation service and solution provider Besedo’s #wetoo campaign, which looks to help online dating platforms tackle online harassment by engaging businesses and individuals.
Andrew McClelland, CEO of the ODA, said: “Sexual harassment in online dating is an issue that the industry is aware of and working to address. The ODA believes that all organisations with a vested interest in the internet, and not just online dating providers, have a social responsibility to keep consumers safe online.
The joint webinar with Besedo gives us the opportunity to offer insight and to discuss how organisations can tackle online safety and the tools available to effectively filter offensive online content”.
Patrik Frisk, CEO of Besedo, said: “Here at Besedo we offer organisations a service that enables them to tackle the problem of sexual harassment in online dating head-on. Through content filtering and moderation using both AI and human expertise we can ensure that organisations can offer their customers a safe and enjoyable online journey.”
