tbc – New Dating App Launches in Edinburgh
tbc is a new dating app that looks to get singles out on IRL dates as soon as possible. After a pilot run in London, the platform will be launching first in the Scottish city of Edinburgh.
Co-Founded by Ben Hanney and Niluka Kavanagh, the platform helps singles to efficiently arrange dates with people nearby who are available at a similar time.
Users simply select a day when they’re free and one of the locations where they’d like to go. The day before their desired activity, they’ll be able to see who else is free to date then and in that area.
In terms of matching & profiles, each user will have three voice questions on their individual page. In order to send a ‘like’, potential matches will record an audio reply to one of these publicly available questions.
“After a pilot run in London we selected Edinburgh as our first official launch city. Having studied here I knew it would be the perfect size to launch in and build our first audience with. Edinburgh has not disappointed us so far! So many singles have responded to our initial marketing and launch activities across the city by downloading tbc already, ready to start going out on real-life dates next week”, Hanney told the Edinburgh Reporter.
“Having been single myself, I know how draining online dating can be. It’s now been over 10 years since Tinder launched, so we’re really excited to bring something new to Edinburgh. One that puts the joy back into dating, so people spend more time out on dates than on dating apps. tbc aims to do just that”, added Kavanagh.
