The Meet Group has been named in the 2019 edition of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the fastest growing North American Businesses for a variety of industry sectors.
The livestreaming and dating umbrella finished at 424th on the list after seeing a value increase of 214% in the four year period between the start of 2015 and the end of 2018. Social media giant Facebook finished seven places below.
It is the seventh time The Meet Group has been included, having made it to the 433rd spot last year. CEO Geoff Cook said in a statement that the team are “honoured” to receive the accolade.
Speaking in a statement, he said: “Our goal is to build the best place to meet new people through video. Since 2015, we have expanded our global footprint by acquiring four mobile apps, Skout, Tagged, LOVOO and GROWLr.
“We are focused on accelerating growth across our portfolio of brands through innovating our livestreaming video product and sharing best practices in monetization and engagement across our mobile apps.”
After a difficult summer period, The Meet Group is regaining some traction and announcing a couple of new features.
‘Viewer Levels’ were launched earlier this week to reward active video watchers by giving them special virtual gifts. It also released its first video dating game ‘NextDate’ that sees streamers go on speed dates while broadcasting to a live audience.
Better than expected Q3 financial results have contributed to its share price rising by more than 50% since the beginning of October.
