A former Google data scientist and writer for the New York Times, Seth Stephens-Davidowitz, has offered up some tips on knowing whether a first date is going well.

The hints are based on the analysis of a number of first dates, after data scientists studied interactions on speed dates – recording and analysing the conversations, then asking the daters if they wanted to go on a second date.

The aim of this, as Stephens-Davidowitz explains in a Business Insider video, was so that the scientists could measure what words used on a first date suggested that people would want to go on a second date.

Check out the tips here.
