Tinder Begins Development on Meme Creation Tool

Tinder is rumoured to be developing a new feature that will allow its users to create their own memes.

There is currently very limited information about the potential update, apart from two screenshots obtained by reliable reverse-engineer Jane Manchung Wong.

It appears as though singles will be able to upload photos from their camera roll before adding text in the traditional meme format. However, there is also a button featuring two dice that could randomly add text to users’ images.

There has been no official word from Tinder suggesting when the feature could be launched or even tested.

Last week, the dating app posted on Twitter: “You can’t spell ‘dating meme’ without ‘dat me'”, which might be an early indicator that the new option could be on the way.

Tinder began testing another new feature last month which would make it possible for users to send messaged to people before they’d matched with them. ‘Swipe Notes’ would add small amounts of text to ‘Super Likes’ and could cost £15 each.

It also made ‘Passport’ mode available to free members as well for a limited time, so they could virtually escape lockdown restrictions and talk to people around the world.
