Tinder is reportedly planning to release its own line of merchandise and accessories, according to a recent filing it registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The dating app submitted two different requests to trademark the phrase ‘Tinder Made’ on 20th January.
One of the registrations is for technology accessories, such as phone cases, hands-free device holders and selfie lights. The other relates to a full clothing range with t-shirts, footwear and hats.
This was later extended to include rucksacks, blankets, reusable cups and even dog collars. However, it’s not guaranteed that everything will be produced as part of the Tinder range and some of the products may have been mentioned to prevent fakes being made.
There is no official date for when these products might be released in the US and, before expanding internationally, Tinder will need to submit trademark requests in the relevant countries.
Tinder teamed up with clothing brand Stradivarius to create a limited edition range of t-shirts for Valentine’s Day 2019. The basic garments featured the dating app’s logo and a quirky phrase like “I’m Your Swipe Right” and “You Looked Taller On Tinder”.
Hinge also released a merchandise range at the beginning of last year, to help couples celebrate the moment they deleted the app. There was a special piñata that was encouraged to be used at a wedding, engagement or pregnancy celebration party.
