UK online dating group Venntro has just launched its latest brand, for daters tired of the repetitive and casual nature of many dating apps.
Called SomethingSerious.com, the Windsor-based digital lifestyle company wants the site to stand apart from hookup-orientated dating services, for daters looking for more serious relationships.
Venntro runs over 25,000 niche dating sites, and SomethingSerious.com joins its other main brands like Smooch.com, JustSingles.com and Revealr, which they acquired in 2015.
Speaking about the company’s latest venture, Venntro’s CEO & founder Ross Williams said:
“Our analysis showed a clear lack of genuine engagement with casual dating apps such as Tinder because of the mentality they embody. When a dating platform is based on a quick like or swipe format, decisions are made flippantly and users don’t truly invest with the activity at hand.
“We believe that people who want a serious relationship will take the time to invest in the experience; by encouraging users to take out a paid subscription and spend time creating a detailed profile, the site facilitates an online dating experience based on more than just impulse.”
SomethingSerious, which costs £15 a month, employs many well-known features such as private and instant messaging, along with the ability to filter members and their intentions, and see who has viewed their profile.
With a multitude of quality free dating apps out there for singles to use, subscription-based products are increasingly looking to brand their services with a stamp of “paid = quality”.
By doing this, products like Venntro’s latest offering want to convince singles that despite the free options available, it is still worth paying for a dating service because of factors such as: the intentions of the site’s users, the quality of the matches and the customer and tech support available.
Speaking about this, Williams said: “There is an ever increasing demand amongst UK daters for a service that facilitates long-lasting relationships and we look forward to helping people build relationships that will change their lives forever.”
