VINA Appoints Media Veterans to Drive Company Expansion
VINA has added Cathie Black to its Board of Advisors and Brittany Galla as Director of Content Strategy.
The tech-company’s flagship product, HEY! VINA, describes itself as “Tinder for (girl) friends”, and looks to connect women all over the word by creating lasting and meaningful friendships.
The appointments have been made to try and accelerate the growth of VINAZINE, their community-driven digital media property exclusively by women and for women.
Olivia June, the Founder and CEO of VINA, said: “Cathie and Brittany are two powerhouse media veterans that I’m thrilled to have on our mission to build a global community of women who support and empower each other. We are working tirelessly to deliver more and better content to our VINA community, and Cathie and Brittany will be integral to VINAZINE’s growth and success.”
Cathie Black has decades of leadership experience in the digital media industry, having served as chairman and president of Hearst Magazines, and working as a publisher with USA Today.
Black is a great fit for VINA due to her avid support for female empowerment, and she is regarded as a role model for women in leadership positions. She adds VINA to her large portfolio of female-founded companies that she works with.
Her main role will be to aid the company’s international growth and overall expansion of their digital product.
Speaking about her appointment, Black expressed: “Olivia is a visionary and it will be exciting to be associated with her, Brittany and the VINA team in growing VINAZINE. Their community-driven approach is incredibly smart and one where there are great opportunities to connect women and foster empowerment.”
Brittany Galla was the Editorial Director for Bauer Teen Group. She oversaw many teen titles, mainly aimed at girls, including J-14 and Girls’ World. She has also been an online editor for AOL Music and Us Weekly, and has written for Cosmopolitan and Fit Pregnancy.
She will be working to develop a lot of the editorial content for VINAZINE.
Galla said: “I’m looking forward to bringing both my creative and marketing expertise to VINA, and helping the brand define its content strategy to engage and connect with an audience that I’m deeply in-tune with and understand.”
