Using data from the last census, a list of the UK cities with the largest single population has been produced.
It was created by Channel 4 ahead of the third season of documentary series First Dates.
34.7% of people in Britain are single but some cities contain a greater number than others, with Manchester coming out top.
Overall, the number of single people in Britain has risen — in 2011 there were 15.7m people over-16 who had never married, up from 12.5m in 2001.
