Match Group’s ‘Chispa’ Partners with Queer Activist for Pride
Chispa, part of Match Group and the number one dating app for Latine singles, has reinforced its commitment to supporting the Latine LGBTQIA+ community with the launch of a new Pride campaign.
The campaign sees the dating app partner with acclaimed queer artist and activist, Julio Salgado, to create a collection of five Pride-themed in-app stickers exclusively for Chispa users. Denoting expressions including ‘Fluid’, ‘Rainbow Rebel’, ‘Panamor’, ‘Bisexy’ and ‘Gender Explorer’, the PRIDE collection stickers were designed to reflect the diverse range of experiences and identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
For each PRIDE sticker displayed by Chispa users on their profile during PRIDE month, Chispa will donate $1 to the Human Rights Campaign, with a minimum donation of $5,000 up to $10,000.
A recent Gallup poll found that LGBTQ-identification is higher in the United States among Latinos compared to other groups, with 11% of Latino respondents identifying as LGBTQ. For comparison, the figure stood at 6.2% for non-Hispanic white adults and 6.6% for Black America adults.
