Muzz Officially Launches in India’s Muslim Marriage Market

Muzz, the world’s largest Muslim marriage app, has formally entered the Indian market. The platform, which operates in over 190 countries and has more than 17 million users globally, had already seen significant organic growth from Indian users before making the official move.

India is home to over 200 million Muslims, making it one of the largest potential markets for faith-based matchmaking. According to Muzz, many users in the country previously relied on traditional family-arranged matrimonial processes or general dating apps that did not align with religious values or marriage intentions. The app aims to fill this gap by offering a platform focused on intentional, faith-centered connections while incorporating family involvement.

Founder and CEO Shahzad Younas noted that India emerged naturally as a key market due to consistent user traction without any prior marketing or local presence. He described the platform’s appeal as reflecting a global shift toward faith-first matchmaking that balances personal choice with family approval.

Muzz includes several features designed to build trust within conservative communities. These include selfie verification, active content moderation, and a “Wali” option that allows users to invite a trusted family member into conversations. The company reports that 90% of its users worldwide find a partner without needing to pay for premium features.

With the official launch, Muzz is establishing a dedicated local team in India and plans to invest in community engagement and culturally tailored content. The move comes as younger Indian Muslims navigate the balance between modern lifestyles, personal preferences, and religious and family expectations.
