FROM THE WEB: ‘PlentyofFish User Took Out Payday Loans in Names of Victims’ – The Daily Mail

Plenty of Fish

The Daily Mail has published a story about a conman who took out payday loans in the names of his victims, leaving one bankrupt.

Gambling addict James Whitehouse, 30, met his victims on Plenty of Fish and used their personal details to apply for loans.

He told them money arriving into their accounts was for him and got the women to forward it to him.

The money was actually from high-interest loan companies, leaving his victims on the receiving end of huge bills.

Whitehouse pled guilty to four counts of fraud, which totalled £1,800, and was jailed for two years at Birmingham Crown Court.
