Asian matchmaking site Lunch Actually has acquired dating app Love Out Loud Asia.

Love Out Loud Asia, or LOLA, was founded in 2013, and works by sending users one match every day at noon, much like Coffee Meets Bagel.

The Singapore-based app says they have facilitated over 350,000 matches, and paired over 10,000 singles across Southeast Asia.

And Lunch Actually, a matchmaking site that creates lunch dates for singles, have acquired the dating app.

Violet Lim, the CEO of Lunch Actually, said: “As a company that constantly innovates to meet the changing needs of singles, we have been on the lookout to collaborate with mobile dating apps.

“We are impressed by the LOLA founders’ ability, high standards as well as their perseverance to build and scale an effective dating app with limited resources and budget.

“LOLA will certainly fit well in our company culture and we are looking forward to work closely with them to continue to serve the needs of singles.”

Lunch Actually has 1m clients in Southeast Asia, and has seen a 30% to 50% growth since 2012.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
