Venntro Expand Portfolio With Acquisition Of Voice Dating App
Global media group Venntro has today announced its acquisition of voice-dating app Revealr.
The online dating provider has secured the app for an undisclosed sum, and plans to build upon the app’s existing technology to help better monetise its user base.
Dating app Revealr uses voice recording technology to help its users to connect with others by just using their voice.
The app, whose slogan is “Reveal as much or as little as you like”, pixelates all profile pictures upon joining, and requires users to upload a 20-second audio clip to their profile.
Users can then search through other profiles, listening to the voice clips to find others who capture their interest.
Profile pictures are only un-pixelated upon matching with another user.
This allows each user to search anonymously for potential matches, protecting their identity until mutual connections are established.
Speaking about the acquisition, founder and CEO of Venntro Media Group, Ross Williams said: “We are delighted to be able to finally announce our acquisition of Revealr.
“The founders and creators of the app have built a very strong product with some highly unique features and we look forward to building on this foundation with a significant product update before the end of the year.
“The founders of the app are off to do great things in another industry and we wish them well in their future endeavours.”
Venntro comes from the team behind White Label Dating and Global Personals, and houses a number of dating platforms, including JustSingles.com and WooWise, which the company secured in 2012.
Another platform, Smooch.com now caters for more than one million members.
Revealr is available to download on iOS and Android devices, and registrations to the app will be accepted soon.
