Tinder Continues Climb Up App Revenue Rankings
Dating app giant Tinder continues to move up the iOS worldwide revenue rankings, climbing to sixth in the top 10 for August 2015.
The latest monthly index by App Annie found that this month, Tinder overtook popular dating site Zoosk, improving two places on its eighth place finish for July.
However both Zoosk and Match.com still remain in the top ten best iOS apps, despite both falling two places to take seventh and ninth.
Last month, Tinder also rose to fifth place on the Google Play revenue rankings for August 2015 – climbing up one place from sixth last month.
Tinder’s ongoing climb up the revenue rankings shows that its premium service Tinder Plus, which launched earlier this year, seems to be performing well on both iOS and Android.
Following the launch of Tinder Plus, IAC reported a strong increase in the number of paid subscriptions for Q2 of this year.
Tinder recently launched a new feature called Super Like, which is one of many forthcoming product updates CEO Sean Rad said would be coming in the next few months.
Such new features are likely to be bundled into Tinder Plus in the future – giving paid subscribers the ability to use more of these special features.
In terms of the top performing companies for combined iOS and Google Play revenue, IAC dropped to third position, behind LINE and Spotify.
