Bumble Opens Pop-Up Space The Hive In New York City
The streets of Soho are now the home to the first ever online dating pop-up space.
Dating app Bumble has just opened a pop-up space in New York City called The Hive.
Described as Bumble’s “digital experience in physical form”, the location is designed to be a safe space where people can hang out, meet new people and attend a series of events.
This program of events will include a panel with the founders of theSkimm hosted by Bumble CEO & founder Whitney Wolfe, as well as style sessions by Drybar and a Mentor & Mingle session led by Forbes.
Speaking about the pop-up on its blog, Bumble said: “Welcome to #BumbleHiveNYC, the first in a series of experiential destinations from Bumble. Designed to embody Bumble’s digital experience in physical form, #BumbleHiveNYC will convene leading female thinkers, artists, and entrepreneurs to celebrate the empowerment of women across all facets of life.
“#BumbleHiveNYC is a safe space where guests can expect complimentary entertainment, drinks and snacks, and interactive sessions with thought leaders and entrepreneurs. Come connect with peers and enjoy interactive programming ranging across topics including Health and Relationships, Technology, Education, and more!”
The dating app currently has plans to keep the pop-up space, which is decked out in 70s-style Bumble colours, open for a month, but there is potential to extend this, or expand it into new cities.
The Hive opened yesterday, Thursday 1st June, and is celebrating its opening weekend with happy hour deals, complementary brunch, free merchandise and DJs sets over the weekend.
Bumble’s pop-up also has a bar, a cafe and is selling Bumble merchandise, the proceeds of which will go to charity.
Those wanting to attend any of these free events can either RSVP on Eventbrite or simply drop by.
The pop-up can be found on 158 Mercer Street, 10012, New York City.
