DNA Romance Launches Gene Pool Match App

DNA Romance, the leader in DNA-based online dating, is launching a new platform to foster matchmaking in the world of sperm donors, recipients, and co-parents. The Gene Pool Match App launches in Canada on July 1st, and in the USA on July 4th. 

Dr. Timothy Sexton, the founder of DNA Romance and the Gene Pool Match App, shares, ‘We are excited to step into this new domain. By leveraging genomics, we make the process of donor selection efficient and transparent, we are helping people connect so they can fulfill their life goals and build happy families”.

The new platform will help support matchmaking among this community through two important methods.

First, it will utilise the DRom 1.0 algorithm to consider 100 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) markers positioned in key compatibility genes. This process helps understand overall sperm donor compatibility. Having matching or near-matching DNA markers can help reduce the risk of miscarriage, the platform explains.

Secondly, the new app will also incorporate personality compatibility, measured using the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types. This information can help users to better understand potential partners, and ultimately create more successful co-parenting relationships. 

Users on DNA Romance upload their DNA profile to the platform for analysis. This data can be taken from existing tests done for companies such as 23andMe, Ancestry DNA, and more. Alternatively, users can order DNA Romance test kits which are then sent to a laboratory.
