happn has released its new range of audio features called ‘happn voice’. The feature is rolling out today in France and Argentina before expanding globally.
The dating platform is launching three new arms of the new feature to enhance user experience: audio note, audio call, and audio feed.
happn users will be able to add an audio note up to two minutes long to their profile. The idea is to introduce other singles to a different side of their personality.
They will be able to talk about a subject of their choosing or follow one of the in-app suggestions such as “Explain your favourite scene in Friends”, or “Hum your favourite song”.
Just like video calls, audio calls enable happn users to keep talking to their Crush directly via the in-app messaging service.
Finally, happn will introduce a feed of profiles in which users can first discover the voice of their potential match before seeing the rest of their profile.
All three features will be free and available to all happn users.
Julie Prieur, Chief Product Officer at happn, said in a statement: “These features will be naturally and intuitively integrated into the app. We have designed them to be compatible with the profile features already available to users.
“We have also added lots of suggestions to guide them and we are sure that singles will adopt these new audio features in no time.”
A survey of 2,000 British people, commissioned by happn, revealed that 80% agree that being attracted to the sound of their partner’s voice is important. What’s more, over half alter their own voice in some way when speaking with someone they find attractive.
