Inner Circle Hires Masha Kodden as Managing Director
Inner Circle has appointed Masha Kodden as Managing Director. The position is a new role which will see her take over the day-to-day running of the company from current CEO David Vermeulen.
Kodden will be based out of the Amsterdam office and will look to continue Inner Circle’s global expansion across its main markets. The team is aiming to double its three million users in the next three to five years.
With a previous heavy reliance on offline events, Inner Circle had to quickly adapt its strategy to fit in with modern social distancing measures. As a result, it has seen a 20% revenue increase this year, almost twice as big as the estimated 10.8% growth.
Kodden explained in a statement: “I’m excited to join Inner Circle because of its unique position in the online dating industry. Roughly 186m singles are using dating apps worldwide and the online dating industry is estimated to be valued at €2,413m.
“With both of these figures continuing to grow, there’s a significant opportunity for growth, especially for a differentiating niche player like Inner Circle – as a brand we can make a real difference in the industry and I’m privileged to be a part of it.”
Vermeulen will remain as the CEO, but is due to adopt a more advisory role. Instead, he is going to focus his efforts on developing the ‘Inner Circle Innovation Lab’, working on specific innovation projects to improve the overall customer experience.
He added in his own statement: “Now feels like the right time for me to hand over the reins while I focus on my entrepreneurial passion for innovating. And Masha is the perfect match to expand the team with the right talent and lead the company.”
Inner Circle hired Sanneke Boesveldt as its first Chief Marketing Officer earlier this year. The brand is looking to further its global scaling by investing heavily in the marketing and communications department.
