LeanPlum Looks at Mobile Dating Insights

LeanPlum has conducted some new research, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

LeanPlum works with some of the biggest dating apps in the world, and is able to access a large amount of data about people looking for love online.

The company decided to investigate whether Valentine’s Day was the most popular day of the year for dating apps or not. They compared user engagement across a few different holidays, including Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, 4th of July, and New Year’s.

The research discovered that St. Patrick’s Day had the highest match rate, with 4% more than Valentine’s Day.

4th July came out on top when it came to how much time was spent in-app, with a typical users spending 14% more time in app during the summer holiday than on Valentine’s Day, and 40% more time than on St. Patrick’s Day.

It also discovered that users send two times more messages to each other in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, compared with St. Patrick’s Day, and they send 17% more messages compared with the 4th July.

However, New Year’s under performed in all three areas – matches, time in-app, and in chats.

LeanPlum also discovered that 🔥, 🤗  and  😍  are the three most popular emojis sent by dating apps in push notifications and emails.
