Matrimony.com Publishes Q1 Earnings for 2019
Matrimony.com, umbrella to Indian matrimonial services including BharatMatrimony and EliteMatrimony, has published its Q1 earnings for 2019.
Revenues came in at Rs 95.5 crores (~$13,400,000), up 10.9% sequentially and 6.7% year-on-year.
Profit After Tax (PAT) was Rs 9.3 crores (~$1,300,000), growing 31.3% sequentially but declining 39.9% year-on-year.
The group claimed 4 million active accounts as of 30th June 2019, having added 1.2 million new profiles during the quarter. Matrimony brands now have over 175,000 paid subscribers.
Murugavel Janakiraman, Chairman and Managing Director said, “The year has commenced well with a strong revenue growth along with improved profitability margins.
“We are constantly evolving and innovating to meet the changing customer expectations. This focus will help us sustain the momentum.”
During the quarter, BharatMatrimony picked up the accolade ‘Superbrand 2019’ from the independent organisation Superbrands India.
The property also picked up a Gender Sensitivity award at the International Advertising Association’s IndiAA regional awards in July.
Earlier this year, executives at Matrimony.com announced plans to expand the range of wedding services they offer. New businesses, such as such as MatrimonyMandaps and MatrimonyBazaar, are being rolled out to help couples plan their big day.
