Tinder, Bumble and Grindr Named Decade’s Most Impactful Apps

Tinder, Bumble and Grindr have been named by CNET as some of the most important mobile apps of the past decade.

As the 2010s draw to a close, the leading technology website published a list of products that have had major impacts on people’s lives.

The apps ranged from social media networks Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to food delivery services and the most addictive games, like Angry Birds, Candy Crush and Flappy Bird.

The three dating platforms were included because of how easy they have made it to find a romantic partner.

Online dating is fast becoming the most popular way to set up dates. According to research from eharmony, the majority of children born in 2037 will come from parents who first met online.

Eric Franklin from CNET said that while Grindr was the first of the three to launch, it was Tinder in 2012 which “profoundly changed the dating scene”.

The most recent data from Sensor Tower shows that Tinder is the highest grossing dating app in the world, comfortably ahead of Bumble in second. Grindr is a little further behind in sixth position, but is still the number one LGBTQ platform.

Last month, Tinder and Grindr were named as two of the best places to work in Los Angeles due to their company culture and numerous employee perks.
