Tinder Releases ‘Pride Anthem’ For Indian LGBTQ Community

Tinder has partnered with Ritviz, a popular Indian DJ and music producer, to release an LGBTQ song to celebrate this year’s Pride Month.

While the current lockdown restrictions in place, the community has not been able to celebrate in typical fashion, so dating apps have worked hard to help people celebrate while staying home.

The ‘Pride Anthem’ is titled ‘Raahi’, which translates to ‘Remained’ in the Gujarati language.

It is also accompanied with a music video which shows how people in India are using technology to stay connected and celebrate their identity while in lockdown.

It also features references to Tinder’s Sexual Orientation update which was globally rolled out at the end of last week. It allows users to identify as up to three different orientations to help them find the best matches.

Ritviz said in a statement to Man’s World India: “It’s an anthem for love. We are celebrating love in lockdown. This anthem and music video represents how we’re still here for one another.

“The ways of letting each other know – hey, I’m here, I see you and I stand up for you.”

OkCupid has created its own video to mark LGBTQ Pride. It features a group of millennials playing a game similar to ‘Never Have I Ever’, who ultimately find out they face a lot of the same issues when it comes to dating, no matter their sexuality.
