Woo and QuackQuack Launch Vaccination Badges in India

Woo has launched its vaccination badge for its 10 million users. Daters can now display the badge on their profiles, letting other members know they have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

New users will be asked during the registration process if they would like to display their COVID-19 vaccination status, and existing users have the opportunity to update this in their personal section of their existing profile.

Ritesh Bhatnagar, CMO of Woo, said: “Although providing vaccination status on our app is optional, data has shown that people are more likely to date someone who has received a COVID-19 vaccination.

“An important part of returning to normal is helping people feel safe as they connect in person.”

Elsewhere in India, QuackQuack has added a feature to display vaccination statuses on profiles. It will also encourage unvaccinated users to register for their jab.

In a recent survey, 84% of members requested a feature that would allow them to have transparency about their current status, while 80% said they would refuse a date with someone who wasn’t vaccinated.

According to The Times Of India, founder and CEO Ravi Mittal explained: “We decided to introduce the highly awaited vaccination feature on our app and no wonder from the day of induction it has started affecting the selection and rejection of profiles.”
