Indian Singles Increasingly Use AI In Their Dating Lives
A new survey indicates that cities like Kochi, Coimbatore, and Visakhapatnam are increasingly adopting AI tools for personal and intimate conversations, reducing the dominance of major metros like Bengaluru in India’s digital relationship landscape.
The Gleeden-Ipsos study, conducted among 1,500 respondents, shows Bengaluru maintaining its lead. Nearly 77% of respondents in the city expressed willingness to use AI for sex education and sexual health information, while 75% were open to using it to improve erotic skills. However, the data reveals significant growth in comfort levels. This comes off the back of a previous study in February of this year, which showed that many were preferring sexual intimacy with AI over a partner.
Visakhapatnam stands out among the emerging cities, with 62% of respondents willing to use AI for sexual health information, 60% open to erotic text conversations, and 58% interested in AI-generated fantasy visuals. More than half (53%) said they would discuss sexual fantasies with AI.
Coimbatore shows similar trends, with 52% willing to discuss sexual fantasies or intimate questions, 50% open to sexual health information, and 49% interested in addressing sexual wellbeing concerns through AI. Kochi reports lower but still notable figures, with around 45% willing to engage in erotic conversations or discuss fantasies, and 43% open to seeking sexual health guidance.
Nationally, 68% of respondents said they would use AI for sex education and sexual health, while 61% would discuss sexual fantasies. The survey highlights how AI’s anonymity and lack of judgment are appealing to users exploring private topics.
Experts note that this shift reflects changing social attitudes and greater digital confidence beyond traditional tech hubs. Privacy features and personalized responses appear to be key factors enabling broader adoption.
The findings suggest that India’s digital intimacy economy is becoming more geographically inclusive. While Bengaluru remains a leader, Tier 2 cities are demonstrating growing acceptance of AI as a tool for emotional and intimate exploration.
