It is widely known that dating app giant Tinder plays host to some hilarious, and often cringeworthy conversations between users who match on the app.

The Guardian recently spoke to the founder of Tinder Nightmares, an Instagram account which documents these amusing failed conversations that take place on the app.

During the interview, founder Elan Gale speaks about the inspiration behind the popular Instagram account, the success of the account so far, and his own personal experience of dating.

He says: “I hate dating so much and I am bad at it to the point where everything goes horribly but I am good enough to keep doing it.”

Gale also reveals he receives 300-400 story submissions each day, and explains his reasons for keeping every submission completely anonymous.

Tinder Nightmares now has over 1.35 million followers, with an average of 3,000 new followers joining every day.
