OkCupid’s Curt Response On Age Restrictions Goes Viral After Reddit Post


OkCupid’s frank response to an accidental attempt to bend age restrictions on the platform has gone viral.

An image posted on Reddit titled “it was just a typo, okcupid calm down” shows that if you accidentally enter an age below 18, the OkCupid platform replies with a curt: “No.”

And the image has now been viewed over 1.8m times after it was posted to Imgur four days ago.

Another user posted about the quirk on Reddit, saying: “Just noticed this the other day! It really kicks in quickly, too. Pause for one second after backspacing 25 to make 24….. 2?! NO.”

The dating platform, which is owned by Match Group, is only for use by those over the age of 18.

As the company’s terms of conditions state: “This Website is not intended for children under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you are not authorized to use this Website and will not be afforded access to any features of this Website that allow for you to provide information to us or to share information with other users of this Website.”
