European dating operator Affinitas GmbH has confirmed a change at the top, the company appointing a new CEO from Betfair.
As of the 1st November, the company will be led by Jeronimo Folgueira, alongside existing Managing Director Michael Schrezenmaier.
Schrezenmaier joined Affinitas in September 2012, and has been MD since May 2013.
Prior to joining Affinitas, Folgueira was the International Managing Director of Betfair, responsible for all business outside the UK, Ireland and the US.
Before this, Folgueira, who studied at Harvard Business School, was the Chief Business Officer & MD at F2P online gaming company Bigpoint, and Senior Strategy Executive at European broadcaster RTL Group.
Speaking about the management shakeup, Affinitas founder David Khalil said: “We are delighted to welcome Jeronimo to our team.
“We are convinced that Michael and Jeronimo will provide our company with the right balance on continuity and fresh ideas and we are excited to see the company go into the future with such a strong management team.”
Its two founders, Luka Brosseder and David Khalil, will continue to support Affinitas operatively until the beginning of 2016, and will then remain close affiliates and shareholders of the company.
Affinitas, which was originally founded in 2008, is expecting revenues of more than €60m this year, and has recently made a huge investment into its new US site Elitesingles.com.
