Last week, the newly-revamped Jewish dating site, JDate, held an evening to celebrate the “highs, lows and laughs of dating” at a well-known Hollywood comedy venue.
The “Let’s Kibitz” event took place at the Improv comedy club, and was attended by singles and celebrities to celebrate the brand’s new design.
Among the attendees were Fashion Police co-host Melissa Rivers and actor and author Keegan Allen.
The evening also featured stand-up performances from various Los Angeles comedians, including Nicole Aimee Schreiber and Liz Weisman.
Speaking about the event, CEO of the site’s parent company Spark Networks, Michael Egan said: “We constantly hear from JDaters about heartwarming and inspirational stories of their success finding love on the site.
“We never tire of hearing when our members find lasting love so ‘Let’s Kibitz’ is dedicated to celebrating these moments and encouraging more!”
JDate was first launched by Spark Networks in 1997, and has since built up a 1.8m user base worldwide.
In November, JDate unveiled its redesigned website, in an effort to reposition itself as a leading niche dating provider.
Spark also made improvements to the site’s back-end platforms and architecture, giving users an easier browsing functionality.
Following the event, Keegan Allen commented on JDate, saying: “Love in the digital era is nothing short of revolutionary, and certainly fodder for some funny, strange and emotional experiences.
“Dating can be exhausting if it doesn’t lead to love, and as a single guy raised within the Jewish faith, I personally value all the ways you can make quality connections with people.
“JDate has a great track record of bringing Jewish singles closer to meeting that person who makes them feel most alive and shares a love for their deep-rooted cultural heritage and values.”
