Whatifi Reconnects People Who Went On The Same Night Out
A new dating app is helping singles get more out of their nights out, by giving them the chance to meet people who went to the same events as them.
Whatifi is a new app, based on the idea that people who attend the same events already have something in common, because they’ve already shared a social experience.
Using location technology, the app seeks to reconnect people who didn’t get to meet, or possibly got separated from each other during the night.
Created by Ken Fitzgerald and Conan Moriarty, Whatifi works by using smartphones to track all of the places each user visits when on a night out.
The following day, the app generated a unique timeline for each of its users, displaying the places they went the night before in chronological order.
Users can then select each of the venues they attended, and scroll through the other Whatifi users that were in the same location at the same time as them.
To connect, a user must select another person’s profile and send a chat request, which they will receive via a push notification to their device.
Each person’s timeline is completely private, and users can only contact each other if they attended the same place the night before.
The app launched back in December for both Android and iOS devices, and is currently free to download and use.
