Facebook Launches Professional Mode For US Based Creators

Facebook has launched ‘Professional Mode’ for creators based in the United States to allow them to better monetise their content and grow audiences.

The Reels Play bonus programme is the first monetisation feature available in professional mode that lets creators earn up to $35,000 per month based on views of reels.

Initially, the programme will be invite-only.

Facebook is also adding a new video composer tool to help creators select multiple clips and save reel mid-creations as drafts. Profiles will also be able to create longer, 60-second reels soon.

As part of professional mode, users gain deeper insights into their posts, audiences and profiles. It details number of stars, reactions and comments. Over the coming months, Facebook plans to extend the feature to more people in the US and additional countries.

The social network said it also added new features to its Pages experience including a professional dashboard to access performance insights.

It’s also testing a two-step post composer that would give creators using Pages the ability to schedule posts and crosspost content into groups using the Facebook app.

Hakim Collins, a Facebook digital creator, said: ““In just a few weeks of testing, professional mode has been fantastic. Within two weeks, I’ve built up more than $10K in Reels Play bonus earnings, so as a full-time content creator, the potential around monetisation and follower growth is huge.”

Facebook say it is planning to expand the service beyond the United States to more countries in the coming months, as well as adding more tools and capabilities over time, including additional ways for creators to monetise their content.
