HER Plans Webinar to Celebrate National Coming Out Day
To celebrate National Coming Out Day, HER, the queer dating and social app for womxn, is hosting an online event where popular influencers will share their experiences.
‘Closets are for Clothes: Coming Out Stories’ is taking place today (13th October) at 1pm ET, and is going to honour the courage and bravery that it takes for people in the LGBTQ community to come out.
The panel is hosted by Kia & Co and will feature Alysse Dalessandro Santiago, Christopher Rhodes and Aisha Shaibu, all talking about their stories and sharing the best possible advice for the audience.
Prospective viewers can sign up for the free hour-long webinar by visiting the official Eventbrite page.
HER also compiled some data to analyse the coming out trends. The information suggests that people are starting to come out earlier and earlier, with the average age for Gen Zers being 16, compared to 24 for Gen Xers.
It’s still believed that the LGBTQ community will be forced to come out in five years and one-third of Baby Boomers believe that it is still a responsibility.
At the end of last month, HER hosted two webinars to mark National Bivisibility Day by supporting bisexual individuals in the fight against biphobia and their own personal dating lives.
