HIV Platform ‘Positive Plus One’ Raises £260,000 in Latest Investment Round

Positive Plus One, a dating platform and social network for people living with HIV, has raised a further £260,000 to help drive growth and take the app to the next level of functionality.

Launched in July 2020, Positive Plus One is aiming to reach over 30,000 members by March. The new functionality will launch in February and will offer the option for advertisers to include in-app advertising.

The round was led by angel investors, which include entrepreneurs and app development industry experts from the UK and the United States.

Christian Mercer, founder of Positive Plus One, said in a statement: “Positive Plus One is quickly becoming one of the leading social networking apps for people living with HIV.

“Growth has been driven through community endorsement and recommendations. This investment will turbo-charge our growth as we go into 2021.”

Mercer appeared on The GDI Podcast in October where he outlined the future development plans and spoke about why he was inspired to create the app.

Co-founder Steven Latham added: “The first six months since launch have been really exciting; we’ve encouraged member feedback and used that to refine the app, something we’re doing with regular updates.

“This investment will offer the HIV community greater benefits and further enhance the user experience.”

Positive Plus One added its first round of updates at the end of last year, which included an overall colour rebranding, a new events feature and a double verification safety process.
