London Police Officer Arrested Over Claims Of Sexual Relationship With 15-Year-Old He Met On Tinder
A London police officer has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl he met on Tinder.
According to reports in the Sunday Mirror, the man is currently on bail, after being arrested on January 29th.
The Ealing police officer was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child, a Met spokesperson confirmed.
It is claimed that the officer met the schoolgirl various times in central London, after meeting her on dating app Tinder.
Reports suggest the man was arrested after suspicions were raised when he tried to visit the girl when she was in hospital.
The case is currently being investigated by the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command.
The man is currently on bail until March 23rd and has been suspended from the force.
The news comes days after Jason Lawrance was given a life sentence for raping five women he met on Match.com over a period of three years.
After meeting Lawrance on Match.com, four of the seven victims reported him to the online dating site, but the company said they could not remove his profile.
Match.com apparently told one victim “it couldn’t do anything because he hadn’t sent any abusive messages via their website.”
Speaking about online dating’s part in the case, Judge Dickinson said that “lessons can be learned” from the case with regards to the safety of online dating.
