Dating apps are providing filters for every trait, letting users personalise their partner search. But one writer highlights why users shouldn’t be able to filter matches based on age.

In a recent LinkedIn Post, Monica Karpinski, a women’s health writer, shares that “preferred age-range filters may be taking older users out of the game before they’ve even got started”. She highlights this affects women aged over 50 in particular.

Karpinski highlights that older dating app users face ageism on the platforms, and those who want to avoid that may just lie about their age anyways.
