Tinder Hires Ex-Google & Twitter Manager As New Russia Country Manager
Tinder has hired former Twitter manager Alexey Shelestenko to lead its operations in Russia.
Shelestenko worked at Twitter for three years as its Media Partnerships Manager.
Tasked with growing Twitter in Russia and nearby European countries, Shelestenko worked on building partnerships in sports, news, music, TV and government.
However after three years, Shelestenko lost the position during the tech firm’s reorganisation last October, when it cut 9% of its global staff.
Before joining Twitter, he was a Product Marketing Manager at Google for six years, working on market research and insights on products like Chrome and the Web Store.
And now Shelestenko has moved on to Tinder, announcing his new role of Russia Country Manager in a message posted to Twitter:
Друзья, с января я работаю в @Tinder в качестве директора по России. Больше свайпов. Больше мэтчей. Больше счастья! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/ldgw9mQ8D7

Having secured Shelestenko as its Russia manager, Tinder is also looking for a South Korea country manager on its jobs page.
Earlier this year, Tinder launched a spoof VR headset at CES, that aimed to “remove the V from VR”.
