Michelle Battersby to Leave Bumble in November

Bumble’s Director of APAC Marketing Michelle Battersby has revealed that she is going to be leaving on 15th November. The upcoming departure will see her start to work with fitness startup Keep It Cleaner.

Based in Australia, the online lifestyle program is targeted at women to help them lead a healthier life by suggesting workout sessions, meal plans, mediation directions and life hacks.

Battersby is set to join Keep It Cleaner as the new Chief Marketing Officer.

She first helped to launch Bumble in Australia in 2016, before working her way up to oversee the marketing department across the whole of the APAC region.

Speaking about her exit, Battersby told marie claire: “My time at Bumble has been a dream, and I am so thankful for all of the support and opportunities given to me by Whitney and the team. 

“I have reached many personal and professional milestones in my time here and Bumble will always stay so close to my heart.”

Some of the highlights of her time with Bumble include a high-profile activation at the Melbourne Cup, launching a region-wide business competition for aspiring female entrepreneurs and presenting the Glass Ceiling Awards to celebrate women who pave the way for future generations.

Furthermore, under her guidance the social app welcomed its 3 millionth Australian user a month ago.

Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd added that Battersby was an “invaluable leader” and will be “deeply missed”.
