Tinder to Open New Palo Alto Office
Tinder is set to open a new Palo Alto office, a stone’s throw from Facebook’s Menlo Park Campus and Googleplex, Google’s largest global headquarters.
The new build is also close to Stanford University, the alumni of which include Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, Evan Spiegel and Peter Thiel.
2555 Park Boulevard is almost 30,000 square feet of office space, and could host over 150 Tinder employees.
The dating app’s previous base in the region was 471 Emerson Street, one of Facebook’s first offices. On moving there in 2016, then-CEO Sean Rad said he wanted to find employees who had worked on “very large-scale systems and infrastructures”.
Last month, Tinder’s Hollywood HQ saw the app named as the 18th best midsize company to work for in Los Angeles. Employee perks included “free daily meals”, “fitness subsidies” and “beer on tap”.
It was beaten out by meditation app Headspace, which ranked 11th, and ecommerce brand Honey, which took the top spot.
Bumble’s office in Austin often receives coverage for the perks it offers, including bi-monthly beauty care and support for breastfeeding mothers.
CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, speaking to Buzzfeed this week, singled out reciprocity as one of the core principles at work in her office space.
